$2.99 12AWG 30' speakerwire at Recoton direct again

Bought both (12 gauge and 16 gauge flat) over the summer for the old ht. I have the 12 gauge wired to the front 3, and the flat to the rears...great wire. This stuff is a steal.

Just bought 9 rolls of the 12 AWG wire for $26 which includes free shipping. That is 27 pounds of wire shipped for free! WooHoo! Now I just need a waterproof speaker for the shower!

The deal used to be 40' of 12AWG for $2.49. That sold out,
and they lowered the price on the 30' to $2.99. Still a steal...

Wangel, if you really want that speaker in the shower, most hifi companies make "weatherproof" speakers that'll perform just fine next to your shower. The Paradigm stylus is my personal favorite, and I know JBL!, Bose, and Infinity also make rather nice ones, which you can pick up from Bbuy, Circuitcity, and the like. They're humidity proof, splashproof, rainproof, and in certain cases, seawater resistant (which is obviously very nasty to anything electronic). I'd recommend wrapping the the wire connectors in teflon tape (a common plumbing supply) to keep water away from the contacts 😉

How fine is the stranding in the wire? Is it the thick stranding like the cheap radioshack junk (when they have one lead copper and the other silver plated copper), or a bunch of fine copper strands like in the monster cable?

Macs,

You can't buy paradigm speakers online, the mnfr strictly prohibits that. You'll have to go to the Paradigm Website to find a dealer near you where you can audition some. Paradigms aren't cheap, they cost about $140/pr, and I believe the stylus models start $180/pr. But for bang/buck ratio you pretty much can't beat paradigm's. They are far and wide considered ridiculously cheap for the quality of sound you get.

got some during the last deal that was running. never touched them though, cause i'm using the cheap cables provided by the speakers.

what's the best way to strip the flat speaker wires? do you round out the tip then strip it, or just do it carefully?

HMMMMMM.....

90' of 12 AWG for $9
100' of 16 AWG for $10

guess you have to decide for yourself...

We've never heard of Bradlees here in California
