you serious?

you managed to copyright links to amazon?

moreover, I don't see any "copyright-able" phrases on that page.

and the color pattern seems to be a standard Frontpage table....

added to the fact that your link doesn't work makes me very confused...actually, i really don't care either way.

Yes, I am very serious. It is the unique assembly of those links, which is copyrighted. One of our moderators spent 8 or so hours putting that list together. It is clearly marked at the bottom Copyright (c) 2001, The DVD Coupon Post. All rights reserved. You are thinking about trademark not copyright.

lol... wuts the point of making the list if people cant view and appreciate it.... well, thanks to whoever made those, but most of those dvds were not to my taste...

actually, you can put "copyright 2001" if you want, but that still doesn't protect you. i just finished a class on trademark/copyright enfringement

nothing i like, and nobody i know would like any movies on that list either. but thanks.

on the topic of copyright, i would think that any unique assemblage of information (including links) is copyright-able. i guess a reading of the copyright laws would clarify this. a good analogy might be in a book you cannot freely distribute the bibliography section, even though it is nothing more a listing of other books.

of course, this is not intended to be legal advice as no direct attorney-client relationship has been established.

I personally don't give a rats a$$ if someone copyrighted it or not, thanks for the link! Found some oldies I didnt know existed.

I am not a lawyer... that said, I do not believe links can be copyrighted. The courts have allowed deep linking even if a website who is being linked to TELLS THEM to drop linking to them. Why is this important? The website that was being linked to has copyrighted the page. So by that thought, the same as yours, those links could not be "reproduced" elsewhere. The court, however, ruled that deeplinking was very much allowed and through out their argument.

Have questions? Ask google about deep linking court cases

besides.. this poster didnt "violate" any of your rights. He linked to somone that you say did that. Linking to a site that has "bad" material has always been allowed except in specific cases where judges have specifically ordered not linking to a specific thing to a specific person. I dont see how his link to a site that may have material that you first thought up is an issue.

Also.. just noticed that this wasnt exactly a "unique" collection of links... this is straight from pulling them off their website. Since it seems the direct link has a referer id (and I dont know how to get rid of it.. anyone?) just go to DVD then Bargain Outlet then BARGAINS UNDER 10$. You are saying that you "copyrighted" the exact same links that were posted directly to Amazon website? I am sure they copyrighted their content as well... if you think that my arguments hold no water perhaps amazon should call your upstream provider and complain about your use of their "copyrighted" material on your forums. Ah well...

... if you came up with this list first, congrats and thanks.. if you had an issue you should contact one of the moderators instead of trying to fight it out on the forums..

Thanks.

Wow! A consumate list of every B movie ever made!

BTW- I took a crap the other day and copyrighted it...that sucker was a work of ART!!!! 😉

<< Wow! A consumate list of every B movie ever made >>

I second that....I have taken better looking craps than the movies on this page.

I agreed links can't be copyright. But stealing someone's hard works is wrong. The only problem is who's telling the truth.

There is precedent that says that deep linking is legal. Period. Even when told not to do so. As someone said before, get used to life on the Internet. You can't restrict the free-flow of information.

Yeah, hi. I would like to know who the original creator of the list is. Yeah, because some of the prices are wrong. And I wanted to serve them a lawsuit for wrongful advertising practices, bait and switch, and also just sue them because I wasted 20 minutes of my time going through the crappiest list of movies ever.

Nowhere on their website did they list "prices are subject to change without notice". And since they are listing prices on their site. I would like the creator of the list to honor those prices for the DVD movies.

These movies are hilarious... at least we know if must cost industry about a dollar or two to turn a movie into a DVD! Why else would they release a bunch of crap DVD's! Incidentally, I was looking for Dullamite, but they didn't have it... tough luck!

You kidding? There's some great titles on that list.

"Sky Wars", I mean, $3.99 for that George Lucas Classic? Jedi Knights? Woot!

And "Predators 2", that mean-ass alien, Danny Glover.

There's also "Out in 50 seconds", that swell Nicholas Cage-Angelina Jolie Car thief movie. Can't wait to get that.

Seriously, who are they making these titles for? Do people actually buy these and think that they got the real thing?

Fry's has that "Out in 50 seconds" movie, and the cover art is a complete ripoff of the real thing.

What is their target market exactly, "budget minded people who like Hollywood blockbusters, but are too attention deprived to read the label closely" Or do people buy these, watch them and say "well, it wasn't Gone in 60 seconds, but it was pretty good and only half the price." Are these the Schlitz and Old Milwaukee of Cinema?

I always laugh when I see these. I always think of the poor little kid who's grandparents thought they were getting a hot deal on the latest Hollywood release, and the kid ends up with this crap on Christmas morning.
