2 8800 GTS(G92) $215/$220 AR

I don't know....

I just picked up a 8800GT 512mb for $182. That is just outstanding! It's the MSI OC version with the heatpipe cooler. NewEgg just came out with an additional $15 off coupon for the MSI brand GT on top of the already $30 rebate. Remember, people were paying $300 for the GT upon release just a couple of short months ago.

Here's what finally convinced me to get the GT over the GTS(G92). Read the whole article if you like, then read the final words from the last page:

HERE

Not a thread crap, as this IS a good price considering what the above linked article thought they'ed be selling for.

I still think if your display is greater than 1680x1050 then the G92 is well worth the small delta of ~ $30 or so. This card owns, especially in the game of Crysis.

Where is the $15 off coupon you mention?

It looks like our verdict still stands: if you want one of the best gaming cards on the market today, the 8800 GT 512MB is still our choice. It's more expensive than we'd like, but the 256MB version is a little too slow, and the GTS 320 isn't fast enough. The 8800 GT 512MB is just right.

fixed

The 8800 GTS definately beats out the 8800GT. And at this price point it is a steal.

When you find a tree with money growing on it, do you ask why?

I'm sure that's what Adam and Eve thought...

Haha, except in this case, it's the man going for the fruit and the woman behind him going "We DON'T NEED THAT"

You mean 98XX series since 9600 is already out. It looks like some 8800 gt is pricing low enough to match 9600 price.

I still ask the same question. why so cheap? 9XXX series alone can't do this I believe.

To borrow a line from James Carville...."It's the economy stupid"🙂

Seriously...the economy is the main reason why prices are dropping. nVidia's stock is nearly at a 52-week low and nVidia is without a doubt the market leader in the PC graphics biz right now. AMD got a $5 billion bailout from the middle east. All the other industries are in the same boat (save defense contractors and oil companies) and it's getting worse. The world economy is facing a depression so pay off your debt, save up 8 months worth of living expenses and then buy yourself a new graphics card😉
