1) Bought Asus P4T-E for 145 bones.
2) Flashed it to 1007e
3) Flashed to become an Asus P4T-533c with bios 1006c (asus P4T-533c bios) now worth 175 bones
4) Bought Retail P4 2.5A w/C1 stepping and threw away retail HS/F
5) Attached cpu to mobo then used AC3 in conjunction with a Swiftech MCX-478 and a Delta 80mm 80cfm 'blowing' not 'sucking'
6) Cranked the voltage to 1.7 volts
7) Set the FSB to 120 and the PCI/AGP speed to 30 (as the new 9700's are very sensitive to OC'd fsb's...

Walla...rock stable @ 3 ghz!!

any questions? :)

Yeah...these "bones" you keep talking about. Which online vendors accept these? I have hassled with Newegg and Googlegear to no end; and no matter how many chicken bones I offer them for a product, they refuse. Do you buy your parts from a local shop? If so, please let me know where they are, as I live in Oregon as well!!!

:p

Nice overclock, though, fkloster. Did you buy a new P4T-E after you flashed your old one dead? Or did you and dexvx figure out a way to fix it? Congrats! (But you beat my o/c......I guess 2.85GHz aint what it used to be)

What happened to your old P4T-E? Nice overclock BTW.
You always got the top of the line stuffs. :)

Edit: Ok, I did a search and found out what happened about your old P4t-e. Sorry for your lost. Don't throw away the board, someone might want it. Also, what is C1 stepping? Shrink die?

What are your temps? (Full and idle please). Oh by the way, I couldn't find the 533-c bios v1006c, only 1007c on the Asus website.
