2.5 computer, shared Cable, Wireless network help please

Hello all... I'm looking to set up a small home network so that 2 desktop computers and 1 laptop can both access my high speed cable internet wirelessly.

As far as I know the setup is something like this Cable outlet--cable/dsl modem and router-- wireless base station -- wireless station 1&2 connected to PC OR Wireless card 1&2.

Is that right so far? The network will extend through one or two floors of a farily large house, and through several rooms

To that, what is the best standard to use? 802.11 B Wi-Fi I know is cheapest and 11MBps, but I hear can interfere with 2.4 Ghz phones and vice versa. 802.11 A I don't know much about, but I hear its 54MBps. 802.11g I really have no clue, except that Apples seem to favor it.

Also, by having the network set up like this, will I "loose" any bandwith from having both computers on the 1.5 MBps Cable access? Thanks

You are not going to lose bandwidth. I.e. your computers will share the bandwidth, but your total bandwidth can not exceed 1.5Mb/sec.

Both 802.11b and 802.11g are working at 2.4GHz. a 2.4GHz tel. might interfere. However it does not make sense to get 801.11a because of a Telephone. At worse you can find a 900MHz tel. for few $$$.
