2.4X DL DVD+R & MS Wireless with Fingerprint reader at CompUSA

25 DL DVD+R for $79.99is it worth it? It's the cheapest I've seen. Newegg has the 15 pack for the same price per disc, but when shipping is factored in this is cheaper (for me anyway).

MS Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer with Fingerprint Reader for $39.99 seems cheap to me, but I've seen no reviews of this, just reviews of the finger print reader itself. I'm very interested in the fingerprint technology, but I'm not sure if this is the best way to go.

Dual Layer is cheap elsewhere. Check shop4tech for instance.

The MS Keyboard is very nice, handy when managing lots of passwords. The mouse included in the kit is... well... ok. No thumb button and uses batteries, not a charger like Logitech. I'd recommend the keyboard any day, but replace the mouse at first opportunity.

Looks like there are two thumb buttons in the picture.

The Intellimouse Explorer is one of the better wireless mice out there. That said, none of them are as good as a cheapie wired mouse.

I bought a fingerprint scanner by Digital Persona, the folks licensiing to MS, a couple years back and my only gripe was driver support. They had the guts to charge $150 retail for a product and then require a $60 "Software Update" to enable XP compatibility. That was the last I tried of that, hopefully MS will strong arm them into actually supporting their hardware with drivers.

As long as we're making random generalizations about mouse quality, I'll take my MX1000 over any wired mouse. I never had a problem fragging with it, and there's no question that cordless is more convenient for nongaming purposes.

Cheers

That is so ridiculous.... I don't imagine that the company got far with a messed up policy like that.

Thanks for the replies. I have an MX1000 and love it too, this will be for another system that I'd like to be more secure. I must admit, I'm not nuts about having to replace batteries for the mouse. Actually, from what I've seen, the fingerprint reader alone goes for $50. So it's a good deal even if all you do is use the fingerprint reader (if you can use just the fingerprint reader, I haven't been able to tell from the pictures I've seen of the setup). I wish somebody would put the keyboard with the fingerprint reader on sale...

I think I'll stay away from the DL media. I noticed Newegg has printable DL media, but it's still VERY expensive. I'll wait for that to come down in price.
