After two years of waiting... I finally gave in
Specs:

2.4C
Corsiar TwinX [PC 3200LL (2x256)]
Radeon 9800 Pro (256 meg 😉)
Western Digital 40 gig / 8 meg cache buffer HD
Asus P4P800

Everything should be here by Wednesday (Hopefully no operator errors, this is my first Intel system, and second system total) 😛 , I'll build it and get becnhies ASAP. 😀

Don't you feel good about yourself when you order the parts you always wanted? It is pure evil I say! Then when you get the parts in its pretty packaging you go ape shite, I love it.

hahaha your 9800pro 256mb costs more than your mobo, ram n cpu all together!

Edit: i'm not making fun of you, just that your video card cost a lot of money.... a lot of money for A video card.

Wow, you went all out, 256mb radeon 9800 and Corsair XMS LL🙂. Personally I would gotten a Radeon 9800 NP and Crucial PC3200, but thats just my opinion😀. Hopefully you don't recieve a dud 2.4C that doesn't overclock past 2.7 like some peeps have recieved.

goodluck!🙂

Go ahead, make fun of me!
I make fun of myself! 😛 What kind of retard would buy a 9800 Pro 256 meg... $488 bucks! You see? 😛

I made sure I got a retail 2.4C (HardOCP claimed that only the OEMs were getting affected)... I sure hope I don't get a dud, would be a bummer. 🙁

This just in: CPU / Memery will arive monday 😀

I just ordered the same parts, except Raddy 9600 Pro, and an Intel mobo, as well as 80GB HDD instead...

Yup Regs, I went insanely crazy when the boxes came in. I was staring at the boxes for like 20 minutes, lol.

CPU got here yesterday morning, but was busy since then. 😀
Specs:
Prod Code: ***SL6WF
Batch: 3318A035
Pack date: 6/05/03

Tell me I got a good one 🙂

keep my posted on that CPU. I have almost the same retail chip:
Prod code: ******** SL6WF
Batch: 3318A028
Pack Date: 6/6/03

My chip is a slightly older batch but was packed one day after yours. i can hit 250 FSB w/ this chip (3.00 Ghz) @ 1.5750v (1.550v actual). It wont do 260FSB at 1.650v (didnt try any higher since i wont be running a P4 higher than 1.65v).
I am using Abit IC7 and Thermalright SLK900U hs. For memory, i am using 2x 512mb Twinmos PC 3700 chips (tested, they work upto DDR 466).

I have already ordered a RMA for this chip, so this chip is going back and i am getting a new one on the way....hopefully, that will be better than this but who knows.....
Your chip is a "Costa Rica". It seems like the "Malaysian" chips are getting a good overclock but again....each chip is different.

Good luck and keep my posted on the chip.

How are you RMAing this chip? It doesn't seem broken to me ...

I believe he's restocking it with the organisation he bought it from... Like googlegear, you can pay 15% of the purchase price and get a new one (Or so I think).

Hopefully the myth of Mayla chips being better OCers is, well a myth. 😀
I still need my MotherBoard, Graphics card, HD and DVD-Rom

Good luck and keep my posted on the chip.
Will do 🙂

"Since there are many new member here in these forums....that cannot really "translate" the fpo\batch of their cpu....here follows a small guide....

1st letter or digit=plant code
0=San Jose,Costa Rica
3=..............,Costa Rica
1=Cavite,Philippines
R=Manila,Philippines
7=..........,Philippines
9=Penang,Malaysia
Q=...........,Malaysia
L=............,Malaysia
8=Leixlip,Ireland
Y=Leixlip,Ireland
6=Chandler,Arizona

Example:L149A463-0726

L=plant (Malay)

2nd digit=Year of production (2001)

3rd & 4th digits=week (49th week )

(A463)=some kind of traceability number

(0726)=Serialization code"

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

So your batch # of "3318A147" means you have a Costa Rica CPU from the 18th week of 2003.

(BTW - I have the exact same "3318", 6-5-03 pack date 2.4C as you. I got mine from Staples on the $144 deal)

Mobo is Intel 875PBZ, RAM is Mushkin Level II PC3200 (Winbond BH-5) 1GB Dual Pack.

No OC on the Intel board.

Specs:
Prod Code: ***SL6WF
Batch: 3318A147

upon further reading on the thread...I got mine from the exact same batch as Kevman did.

Kevman did you get your system put together yet? If so how did your CPU overclock? I have the same 2.4C as you do.

parts arrived at home today, ( I'm still at work) but I might be holding off cuz I got hyper x pc3000 memory. I think I'm going to go for PC3200 or PC3500 memory. not sure which one yet. I'll post results once I get her up and running.
