2.4B Cooling Questions

I was considering purchasing a new heatsink for my 2.4B processor, but now I'm wondering if it is worth it. The cooler I have now is a generic aluminum Coolermaster with a 70 mm 4000 rpm (very annoying) fan. My motherboard has two temperature readings for the cpu - inside the cpu temp and the on-pcb temp, and I don't know which to go by. The inside the cpu temp has readings of 46C idle and 61C at load, and the on-pcb temp has readings of 35C idle and 47C at load. I think I like the on-pcb temp better :D. Are these good temps for a 2.4B? I was going to buy a Zalman cnps7000-cu (mostly for the noise). Is there a better heatsink for this processor? A cheaper one, perhaps? I want to overclock this chip, but I am a little worried about the temps for right now.

Go by the CPU temp, and there is a better heatsink, not really sure about cheaper. The Thermalright SLK-800U seems to be an almost universal reccomentation.

The Zalman you mention is a good HSF, you won't go wrong with it. As some other's suggested, Thermalright is also very good. I've got my P4B 2.66 about 31c idle, which is only about 5 degrees above ambient using a Thermalright SLK900U and a low noise 92mm Panaflo L1A. 44c loaded. Very quiet. I don't think you're saving any money over the Zalman you've looked at already, they're both solid choices.

You PCB temps sound pretty good, but it's hard to be sure they're accurate. The temps I posted are reported too, and I don't trust them. Got a temperature monitor coming this week and I'll give you some more reliable temps then.
