I was considering purchasing a new heatsink for my 2.4B processor, but now I'm wondering if it is worth it. The cooler I have now is a generic aluminum Coolermaster with a 70 mm 4000 rpm (very annoying) fan. My motherboard has two temperature readings for the cpu - inside the cpu temp and the on-pcb temp, and I don't know which to go by. The inside the cpu temp has readings of 46C idle and 61C at load, and the on-pcb temp has readings of 35C idle and 47C at load. I think I like the on-pcb temp better
. Are these good temps for a 2.4B? I was going to buy a Zalman cnps7000-cu (mostly for the noise). Is there a better heatsink for this processor? A cheaper one, perhaps? I want to overclock this chip, but I am a little worried about the temps for right now.
