2.25ghz/R9700 Pro = 13200 and 4500 for 3dmark01/03....LOW?

i saw people with 2.3 ghz and the same vid card pull close to 17K for 3dmark01...why's mine so low? what is everyone else getting?

Epox 8KHA+
XP 2100+ TBB @ 2.25ghz
Radeon 9700 Pro @ default
Generic 512mb pc 2100
Audigy 2
Windows XP Pro

thats what i thought too... i have a 1.6@2.4 and getting 13500 and 4600 ... how are you guys getting 16,000!!!

probably the chipset

Dual channel DDR on NFORCE2 will bring it a while up

also they might be using Barton CPU's which are faster as well

Ph33zy your scores are low because you have a P4 instead on an athlon

clock for clock the athlon is much faster you should only compare your scores to 2400+ athlons or 2.4Ghz P4's

what drivers are you using?

wait.. n/m you're using an ati card...

my score jumped over 1000 points after i used different nvidia drivers... crazy huh?

same here, 1200 to be exact.

Be sure to have truform, antialiasing, and all those other settings that detract from performance off. People also overclock their graphics cards which helps out quite a bit, and also the latency of your ram will affect your scores too on top of dual channel.

yeah, everything's off. ram and overclocking my vid card can't be that much of a problem. i mean i'm getting the same score as txxxx who has a 2.1 ghz and gf4 ti4200 while i have 2.25 ghz with a radeon 9700 pro. it doesn't make sense.

Hmm, that does seem a bit low. Link to your ORB results so we can get a better idea. I remember the first time I ran 3DMark2k1 I had a similar score, but that was with a 1700+ @ 1.73GHz.

It might be your lower FSB speeds since you're running PC2100. If you are overclocking your RAM and had to lower your CAS timings, that might adversely affect performance as well. What clockspeed is your Radeon at?

my cpu is running at 150x15. in the bios, i set my ram to fastest...that's the second highest, i can't set it any higher or else it won't boot. i'm not sure what my timing are....i just put the option "by spd" in bios. for my ram clock, i put 133mhz cause when i have it at "by spd", anything above 150mhz for my bus will make the ram speed lower...it'll post as pc 1600 or whatever instead of 2100. i don't know if i'm making any sense to you guys. here's a screenshot of sisoft sandra not sure if this is the info you guys need.

my radeon is at stock speed.

I'm running a 1800+/8RDA+/512MB PC2100/9700 Pro and I score 125XX in 3DMark2001 SE and 43XX in 3DMark03.

I would expect your scores to be considerable higher with your CPU.

3DMark is sensitive to memory settings. SPD = high cas = slower memory access overall. Try setting manually. I have mine at 13x166 , memory at full aggression (2-2-2-5). Also , the difference between 150 and a 166MHZ FSB could make a few hundred points difference. Notice in a comparison how some game test's on a Geforce4 TI4200@300/600 run quite a bit faster?

Tweak the bios a little, you should be fine.

You're running asynchronously. Your RAM looks to be at 133MHz and your FSB is 150MHz. This generally leads to poor performance on XP platforms. In your case, its even more pronounced b/c your CPU can't fully stretch its legs even though its running at a high clockspeed due to the bandwidth limitation of your RAM at 133MHz. I would start your OC from scratch and see what the highest FSB speed you can run synchronously (mem frequency and FSB at 100% or "sync" in BIOS" and then make mulitiplier adjustments to achieve a similar total clockspeed.

well i just popped in a friend's crucial 256mb 2700 and had the timing at the most agressive. my score went up to 14,400. what should someone with a 9700 not o/c and 2.25ghz be getting in 3dmark01?
