1st time to the firing range today...

bunch of us "workers" went to the shooting range today during lunch...

1. the initial getting over all the guns going off and startling me took a bit
2. once I got used to that, co-worker taught me the basics, stance, safetly...etc
3. shot 22 - easy
4. shot 9mm glock - a little kick, adjusted
5. shot 45 - significant kick, hard to adjust

overall, the experience was good, no one died 😉

was encouraged to buy my own weapon, don't know if that will happen, but it was fun.

expensive!
 
i enjoy going ot the range. just hate going alone. not to mention i don't have a gun kinda makes it hard.

oh and they kick you out if you point your finger at the target and go "bang bang" sigh.
 
We like to shoot paint cans. Spray a paint can and set it on fire, then get back and shoot. Awesomeness ensues.
 
oh my gosh! wasn't that so fun?

i had done this yearsss ago with some friends. i'd like to go soon again. next date i go on i'll suggest going to a shooting range...although it may scare him off, oh well. LOL 😀
 
I've always wanted to go to a shooting range. When I was in AZ I was in the desert so we got to shoot out there. I couldn't tell ya what I shot though.
 
Going to the range is a lot of fun. The local outdoor range was forced to close recently so me and my dad went one last time and shot 22, 9, 38, 45, 357 caliber pistols plus 22, 30-30 rifles. The 22's are usually the most fun because you can shoot them forever without getting sore and they are really cheap.

The most fun I ever had at the range was when I was around 13 years old and the guy next to us let me shoot his AR15. That thing was awesome to shoot. I thought it was going to kick a lot but it was just like a 22.

Every time I go to vegas I want to visit to one of the ranges that let you rent/shoot a full auto, but the girlfriend looks at me like I'm crazy.

Range near me charges roughtly $15-20 for the first half hour, $10-15 each consecutive if you use their guns. And you must buy their ammo, which is a little pricier than most retail stores. Can't bring it in. They charge about $5-10 each half hour if you bring your own gun (and you can bring your own ammo.)

1 box of .45 rounds
2 boxes of 9mm rounds
3 target sheets

he brought his own weapons and 1 large bag of .22 rounds, he brought 2 ear protections and 1 safety glasses. apparently my regular eye glasses is good enough.

like I said, expensive hobby!
 
I bring my own guns/ammo & eyes/ears. I usually go with a friend or two but have gone alone as well. An hour at the range usually costs me about $15 not including ammo. I can go through a couple boxes of ammo for each gun I bring and I'll usually take 2 or 3 guns when I go shooting.

I haven't been in a while though. Definitely need to go again soon.

Assuming those are 100 round boxes, that's not bad actually. .45 practice ammo is around $18-$20, while 9mm is about $10-$11. That's about $40 in rounds alone.

.45 ammo (last time I bought it) could be had for $10-12/box and 9mm can be found for $8-10/box. .44 Magnum is around $20/box. These are prices for a box of fifty rounds.

I was in Wal-Mart the other day buying ammo. These were the prices I saw.
 
First time I went to the firing range I started out wiht a .22 rifle, then a 9mm, then an AR-15, then this guy next to me let me try his thirty-ought six. That thing had KICK, my shoulder was soar the next day from that thing.

Wal-Mart sells nice Winchester 9mm range ammo for $10.96 for a box of 100 rounds. When I used to shoot a lot, that was the one and only reason I went to Wal-Mart (though honestly I always felt a little strange going into a store and walking out with nothing other than 500 rounds of pistol ammo!).

Did you use your coworker's guns? Or was that included with the lane/ammo?
