Not really...that's the unfortunate part about going HD these days, is that like conjur mentioned, he's tuning via an OTA antenna, which can run another $200-$300.

But look at that picture. :D

I'll put it up there but I think the capturing may not be set right as it's like it took the 16:9 image and stretched it even more. I had to resize the image and compress the width.

Yeah, it the first one you posted, I noticed a slight varience in the right ratio. With the uncompressed, it's highly noticable. Any others in the correct ratio?

Right, I understand that it needs to go through the Off-Air Television Antenna, but like you said, look at that picture. ;)

It's free...Over-The-Air (OTA)

wow, so whenever NBC, ABC, or FOX broadcasts say "in HDTV", you can get that w/ your video card?

Ayup...well...FOX is only EDTV (480p) and my local FOX doesn't even pass that thru...it's just a digital version of regular NTSC :(

The antenna was only $13.99 at Radio Shack. :)

Amazing! :Q

If there were any digital broadcasters here (and any hope of getting a signal in my bedroom) I wouldn't hesitate for a second to get one of those things!

Thanks for making me look bad ;) I haven't read up on HD that much since I can't afford it yet (the speakers kinda sapped my funds for a while...:)), so why do all the antennas I see on HTF cost so much? I can believe that they all work, but are the more expensive "name-brand" ones better?

If not, I feel much better about that jump. Only $1000 for the projector/TV and $2xx for the card. only. ^_^

There are some great antennae out there (Televes, Blake, etc.) that do run up to $125 or more. But, they offer incredible gain for people on the fringe or in areas where the DTV broadcasters are at very low power and it takes a high gain antenna to get a signal.

I'll try and get a pic of Harrison Ford up (for any ladies reading this :) )...d'loading LView trial to better adjust the image.

I think this is the proper aspect ratio this time!

That is incredible. Any other places online that sell this card cheaper than the site that has already been listed?

I think that's the only place.

Check the "Home Theater Computer" forum at AVSForum. That's where I found out about the card (there are others out there but this was a great price and decent enough features for me)

Heres a website with a bunch of screen caps of all the hdtv everybody is missing out on, due to bw probs he had to take all of the high rez pics down... but you still get a good picture of what your missing.

http://www.feldoncentral.com/hdtv/

Everybody who thinks hdtv is a crock go look at those and tell me with a straight face hdtv is crap.

"The myHD card is produced by Macro Image Technology (MIT) and sold exclusively in the US by DigitalConnection.com."

I guess it is only through that site. Thanks for the info!

Not cable but just Over-The-Air (broadcast). You *can* get it over some cable systems, though and also over DirecTV and DISH (but DISH is the only one with one of the major networks with CBS and then only in certain cities).

hmm...let me edit this a bit:

DirecTV HD: HDNet, HBO, and I think Showtime
DISH HD: HBO, Showtime, CBS, Discovery HD, and a PPV (with HDNet coming this summer, I believe)

Still no final word on ESPN-HD coming to either, AFAIK
