Is that the reference nV cooler or is it just an XFX solution? I wonder what other manufacturers will come up with.
Nice benches

What's funny is that HardOCP shut down their forums because of you. It's amazing that they would do that for NVIDIA. Lame... No reason that their forums went down after your XFX started spreading around the net.

HardOCP always shuts their forum off to save bandwidth it seems. Either that or they have a really crappy db that is prone to crashing too often.

Damn dude, that's an insane setup. The only thing you need now is a 4800+.

Oh and PM me if you want to sell a copy of Far Cry. ;)

Interesting.

That means the other guy who got one was lying? He said that the clocks on the box were 550/1700.

Thanks for the info.

I was wondering about that too. Strange.

Are you two both that short sighted? If "detect optimal frequency" sets him at 603/1777 don't you think that it probably is a 550/1700 card? It would make complete sense... Now, before you jump to a conclusion that "The other guy is lieing" why don't prove otherwise? Right now you have "his word against his word" which doesn't hold up in any court of law :p Perhaps the OP just didn't "notice" them either.

Thanks for posting all the pics and info - great news that all the ram is on the front side now!

Odd that your SLI score is not much higher than my Shuttle SN26P running SLI with (2) BFG 7800GTX 256mb? 3DMark05 Compare - 12274

I would have thought it would be closer to 14K based on your single card score? I'm sure it will get much better after you get it all sorted out!

So you don't think it's strange that one guy says:

Yes its 550! Yes its 1800 mem.
and the next guy says that there are no speeds on the box? I'm not calling anyone a liar, I'm just saying it's strange. Would love to get a solid confirmation of what the stock speeds on this thing actually are.

Should be a lot closer to 10k with new drivers I would think.
I think a 512MB GTX @ 600/1800 with an X2 oc'ed should bring in at least 10.5k+

The reason for the "low" 3DMark05 scores...

The 7-series (and most likely the X1k as well) only really begins to show an extreme improvement at high resolutions. The default rez (and only one available on the free version) for 3DMark05 is 1024x768. This generation, moreso than the last, has really made 3DMark05 a poor benchmark for determining video card performance.

marc, can you take a screenshot of that same overclocking utility set at "no overclocking" to see what the stock clocks really are?

Marc can you check which way the cooling fan blows air, does it suck in air from the middle and blow it out on either sides. Or does it sun in air from the sides and blow it out the middle.

because you are going to use liquid nitrogen to cool your card right...

not to mention he had artifacts in 2D mode with those clocks...i dont see why it is such a big deal reaching 1ghz if you cant even load windows properly
