Hey all.

TigerDirect has a 1 gig stick of PC3200 DDR RAM for sale $59.99 AR (doesn't include shipping costs)

$99.99 - $40 MIR

This MIR is for 9/1-9/30

Honestly, $59.99 is a damn good price considering the costs of DDR lately. Of course, what really sucks is I bought this 2 days ago for $114.99 - $40. But hey, maybe it can help one of you out!

Linkified

This RAM is very stable at its intended speed (I've been using them for years) and has a lifetime guarantee. However, it's not performance RAM, so I doubt it would overclock very well.

Really? Hmm... I've seen this happen lately. The other day I was getting $115 and other times $140... I think it might have something to do with that priority code at the very left and bottom of the screen.

It's still showing up at $99-40 for me, with Priority code: WEBRSS001

If you can't get it to show up on the website, call in with that priority code and price.

The price of DDR has gone way up since AMD switched over to DDR2 for the AM2 socket. Production of DDR is very limited now.

Has Tiger Direct gotten any better with their rebates?

I can remember for the past several years people would reply "NO TD REBATES!"

But I have not seen them in a while. Has something at TD changed for the better?

Yep, they've gotten a lot better. Now their rebates are guaranteed by TD. They do most of their rebates through OnRebate.com too. That seems to have made a huge difference. I've gotten every single one in the past 2 years with no problem.

OnRebate allows electronic submission followed up with mailin documentation. Makes it all very easy to track. In fact, they have a lot of options. You can go with the old rebate by check, standard rebate by PayPal, or express rebate by PayPal. The express rebate by PayPal is my favorite since you don't have to wait the 6-8 weeks. They take a small cut of your rebate for this, but you get it back within a week. I'd rather pay $5 and get my $120 back in a week than wait months for it personally. But that's just an option of course.

However, as always, you have to follow directions and make a xerox of the forms you mail in. If you have the xerox and the rebate doesn't go through, you can call up TD and they'll pay the rebate to you. You'll still hear people whine on the board about TD, but those are people who A: can't follow directions, or B: don't make a copy for proof.

I disagree. Onrebate puts ridiculous requirements on their rebates, such as using
their label on the mailing envelope. They claim they want an invoice, and then in their FAQ, say that the packing list is an acceptable substitute for an invoice.

Then they reject my rebate, because I sent a packing list, not an invoice.

here is the definition of invoice:

A detailed list of goods shipped or services rendered, with an account of all costs; an itemized bill.

I don't think I have ever received an invoice on what I ordered, only a packing list.

In the rejection email, they tell me to send them a copy of the invoice.

We'll see if my resubmission, with the original packing list, gets me my rebate.
However, this will be the last time I deal with Onrebate. There is a reason that they
have such a reputation. Do a google search of Onrebate, and just look at all the
complaints.

Well, I guess that's the point of the TigerDirect rebate guarantee.

Anyway... umm... yes there is a difference between packing slip and invoice (I believe some packing slips even state "THIS IS NOT AN INVOICE"). If you want an invoice from TD:

goto tigerdirect.com
click on "My Account"
click on "Order History and Invoice Copies"
click the "View Invoice" button next to your order
click the blue "Print Invoice" button.

I'm not trying to be an ass or anything. Just wanted to let you know this is what you need. And to let anyone else know who wasn't clear.

oops, sorry I didn't elaborate. It should be listed for $59.99* below the "Carl's Deal of the Day" box.

I changed the link... I think it should go directly to the memory at the correct price now. Let me know if it doesn't!

The rebate was credited to my Pay-Pal Account today.
I did use the "Pay A fee and get it quicker " option.

Total Amount of Rebate Came to $35.50

will they catch on to that if you use a credit card with the billing address the same as the one you had the previous stick sent to? That would be nice but I'd hate to be out $40 because they got smart...

I never use their label when I send mine in, and I've gotten all my rebates from OnRebate on time so far. You just have to address your envelope exactly as shown. Also, you can get your order invoice from TD's website. I'd never use a packing slip. Send it in, and they should take care of the rebate for you.

Good deal OP. I just spent $92 on a gig of RAM. How I miss the days of cheaper memory.
