1gig to 1.5 gig?

I have a gig of corsair value ram(2x512) and was wondering if i put a 512 stick in would losing duel channel make it not worth? I assume I would get the second 512 soon after that but...

Dual channel doesn't make as big a differance with A64's/X2's, usualy about 5% at most, so if you are running stuff that uses more that 1gig of ram, and hitting the page file, it would be benificial to add the extra 512mb now. You will also have to run at 2T timings, which is another 3-5% performance hit.

That 2T stuff is way overrated, but I just needed to know about duel channel, and I'm sure BF2 eats my 1gig up so...

One more thing, if i buy single 512 right now and if i get another later on will they work in duel channel?

As long as you get one with matching specs, yes, you could get another later on and still be in dual channel.

I went from dual channel to 1gb to 1.5 simply because of BF2 and it made load times SO much faster. Game play just seemed a bit more smooth also, but it was all worth it for the map changes.

nope, but it really doesn't hurt much to run 2T in most cases.
