yeah well... when you get your rebate it will be a deal... recent purchases with MIR from Outpost or Frys have been bad experiences for me, ill stick to no rebates.

how does you know dat it b overclockin real good? is value ram.

for one thing it's mushkin. Most value ram is just another model rebadged lower. I have geil value pc-3200 and I run mine at ddr460 at the moment with 2.9 volts. Most ram overclocks a little at least if it's from a good manufacterer. and It also has heatspreaders

Dual channel ram gives you double the bandwitgh as opposed to ram that's not in dual channel. That usually gives a least a %5 increase

This is the basic green. It does not have heat spreaders. Very solid RAM. For customer systems I'll put this, the Corsair basic, or Kingston Value. I don't sell to any enthusiasts, but I know from experience that all three companies make good basic RAM, and with conservative timings can get surprisingly nice OC. The biggest reason to buy this stuff is that name. You just do not get crap from Mushkin. Solid, stable, high quality stuff.

Exactly!
Too bad, it's not a one piece 1gig of ram, otherwise, I'll jump on this deal.

I only have 2 RAM slots on my motherboard, and 1 is already filled.

From what I recall, dual channel memory basically allows you to retrieve words from memory on successively clock cycles. Channel 1 gets one request, next cycle, channel 2 gets its request, channel one returns it's results, then channel 2 returns its results on the next cycle. It basically cuts the response time down for retrieving large amounts of data.

That said, all "dual channel ram" is are two regular modules that are supposedly "matched" in performance. If you buy single modules that have matching stats and plug them into a dual channel MB, they should work fine.

If you are near a Fry's I saw an add today that said they had 2X512 sticks of Corsair VS PC3200 for $109 after rebate.

I got this RAM in a Thanksgiving rebate sale ~ the same price. By default it runs 2.5-3-3-7, no printing on chips, am not sure what it is, but it works well for the $$.

When you add this to cart it goes up to $133.23

i ordered this last night around 1am EST. when put into the cart it showed up as $133 for me too, but after going to checkout it went back down to $129. not sure what that was about.

$129 across the board here. Looks like a hot deal. I was just shopping for a new stick, but I only need 512.
