wuts the diff btw athlon and TB??

Nice find...I may have to go to Fry's....but remember with Fry's -- it's Buyer Beware with there crappy customer service.
 
what locations are covered by that fry's ad you're referring to? what was the $169 you were you talking about? is that for the combo or just for one of the pieces?
 
i'm just saying cheapest for cpu alone i found online was 169+ S&H
price stated by frys is 239 w/ m/b
 
I hate fry's after they made the frysad.com website shut down..

Ohh well now i never know when they have good deals so i NEVER shop their anymore...

i hate frys...they sold me a bad cpu and motherboard...and wouldnt let me return it...so i had a friend go and say it was bought for him as a gift, and they returned it...muahahaha...i hate frys

I did not see this offer on today's ad. Which day ad did you see this on? The one I saw was an Abit KT7A with the 1.2GB retail box for $369 I think.

1. is this a good price (same combo is almost exactly the same at pricewatch)
2. will it fit my case (have a p3-533/133 on a soyo mb with 250 watts pwr supply),
that is , how do I tell if my case will work?
3. crucial recommends the pc133 ram Ive got now for it, should be ok?

from what I recall, fry's charges a minimum upgrade fee for a different mobo. If you want, check out how much more an Iwill KK266 Socket A mobo is. Have them open it and confirm that it is NOT a Revision 1.2. This wont matter in a couple of weeks though, just within the next week probably. In any case, it's a great deal on both systems. Yes, your ram would certainly come in handy on the Iwill board anyway. It has the VIA Kt133A chipset which lets you EASILY overclock the front side bus of your processor.
 
well, the line was so long in that section I didnt even bother
(and couldnt even see any, but there were tons of Iwill boards)just
got the 14.99 cds...

there was a St pattys day special on the abit kt7a raid with amd 950
for $289, but didnt know if that was a good deal or not.
