1GB pagefile.sys and 500MB hiberfil.sys - why?

For some reason I have huge pagefile.sys and hiberfil.sys files located directly on my C:\. I'm running WinXP with SP1. Are these files even suupposed to be here or is this most likely a virus of some kind? Last week I downloaded McAfee Virus scan and it hasn't cought anything. If anyone has an idea it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

This is not General Hardware related.
