1gb MiniSD card + SD adapter - $33 shipped, no rebates @ Surplus Computers

ZipZoomFly also has a 2GB Sandisk MiniSD for $69.99 with free shipping. No sales tax outside of CA.

EDIT: by the way, the ZZF price for that 2GB card appears to be their standard price and, therefore it is not a sale price.

are these the same as the "micro SD" cards that some of the new cell phones use?

edit: nevermind, found a 512mb microSD here: http://www.surpluscomputers.com/store/main.aspx?p=ItemDetail&item=CPM10324. T-Mobile tries to sell the same thing for $70 :disgust:

Correct, MiniSD and MicroSD are 2 different standards. MiniSD is used in my LG VX8100, MicroSD is used in the Moto E815. IIRC, it is possible to convert micro -> mini -> SD thru multiple adapters tho.

Off-topic, but who cares 😉

Does anybody besides me think that this is getting out of hand? Don't forget CF (multiple flavors), Memory Stick (plain, Duo, and Pro), XD, MMC (mobile, reduced-size, and plus), and XD.

Sanity surrenders.

Good find. For some reason this didn't show up on PriceWatch when I checked before posting.

I just picked up a 2GB miniSD card from this pricegrabber storfront guy

Digital Media Outlet

Total price was $67 and I ordered it on Sunday, april 30th and it came yesterday via USPS. That was pretty impressive considering they shipped from Brooklyn, NY and I live in Seattle, WA. The description says OEM but mine came in a retail package so I have no idea what you will get.

What I find annoying is not the many media types but how flash media is one of the only things that when you buy more you pay more per unit. That totally throws off the Costco mentality of this simple consumer. 😕
