I think I have never heard of them and those specs are insane! That's the first 16.7 million (true 24-bit) panel I have seen in a long time and the viewing angle is like a PVA. Only thing that looks suspicious is the response time (15msec) - I'm wondering if they are only quoting the rising or falling refresh. Must be... Ima go look for some more info on that one...

After looking, I'd say it's highly likely it's 15ms rise, 10ms fall (aka 25ms). Pity. 🙁

I liked the specs on it so much that I called just to confirm a few things. It is actually, according to the CSR, 30ms response time. Pretty misleading and VERY disappointing. 🙁 Looks like I'm waiting on the next 2001FP deal.
 
I really like the 19" size but I want 1600x1200 1280 is just too low on a monitor that size. but I'm thinking of holding off purchase of a monitor till the rumerd dell 2405 comes out
 
I noticed this on the Newegg web page for the Hyundai Imagequest, what size is it? 17" or 19" too late to call. I checked the ImageQuest web page and a L90D+ is 19". There is no mention of the claimed 8ms response times.

So the Hyundai isnt 8ms? I couldnt find that listed anywhere.


what about some of these other at NewEgg? ---> AG Neovo F-419, CMV CM-926D, Rosewill R910E, BenQ FP931, LG L1910BK, Samsung 910T, Sceptre X9G-Gamer

These monitors are all relatively close together in price range. But some of the low end brands concern me in that response time listed may not be accurate. I know the Rosewill is on SuperSale at newegg so I would like to hear some feedback about that model preferably.. and also the Scepter X9g... it is listed as a 12ms refresh but I have my doubts.
 
Another attribute of LCDs (or anything for that matter) that I haven't seen mentioned here yet is warranty period and ease of RMA. If you check out Sony's, Samsung's, Princeton's, etc. warranties and their websites for ease of online RMA, I think you'll find it sometimes pays to spend a little more on a known brand than unknown.
 
you can get 8, 12, 16, 21, and 25ms response times I had that princeton and it was very bad for games 🙁 I ended up selling it on ebay, making a few dollars and getting a Samsung with 12ms oooh it is sweet 😀
 
The Hyundai IS 8 ms. It's basically a rebadged samsung with DVI added. It is the new Samsung 8ms TN panel. That means its not true 16.7 million color, but 262k dithered, but supposedly the new samsung panels look really really good, and its barely/not noticible.
 
I still think that 8ms doesn't matter though, anything lsited as 16ms and below from a semi-reputable company should be fine.
 
Actually the Hyundai looks just like the Samsung 910T I got for my brother in law.... right down to the height adjustment. Sweet... and about $100 cheaper than the 910T to boot. The 910T can do dual source... I just hope this one can too.
 
Got the hyundai today, very very nice

I am one of the unfortunate ones who got 2 defective fpw2500s so I can compare.

this is much brighter... and it looks sharper.

the color is not nearly as vibrant as the dell, but the blacks are much darker. I think the contrast is better, but its hard to tell considering the bleedthrough on the dell.

for all the argument between WS and FS (I thought fs would be nicer) WS is MUCH nicer on the eyes...

There is nearly 0 backlight bleedthrough, and 0 dead pixels, as you'd expect for a rebadged samsung.

The stand which holds the monitor is annoying in that, it's lowest setting is pretty high ~5 inches off desk, and it doesn't have a great range of motion.

Halflife 2 and doom 3 on my GF 6800 DVI have no ghosting, even in dark areas, no matter how hard I try

The view angle is less than the dell was, but unlike the dell which made things puprle at an angle, they become yellowish, like what you'd expect an CRT to look like, when you go too far of an angle
too far is prolly 50 degrees to the screen...

as far as are there speakers or not, there ARE speakers, but they are not added onto the bezel, they are integrated on the back along with the heat vents, so you would not know there are speakers except for the pludg on the back, and the mute and volume buttons on the bottom (the newegg picture is correct).

any other questions, just ask.. all in all, I think the dell, if it wasn't defective would be nicer, but only because of widescreen and stand. for 200$ less, I'd choose this one again if given the choice.
 
oh, the on screen display for the dell was nice, this one has a very very basic one. apparently hyundai did not use samsungs firmware unfortunatly, so no nice graphic menus... all the same (and expected) options though

it allows you to change between DVI and analog on osd. haven't tested to see if it auto detects, but it did know I was using dvi... (don;t have an extra analog source to test) no Svideo input.
 
Thanks for the update... how are the colors on the Hyundai?

and you mentioned WS/FS - was that for the Dell or for the Hyundai?
