Not a bad deal at all. 3.8 sucks but that's ok. Would be a good starting point for a V8 swap. Especially if you get a good deal on the motor.

Not worth it, GTs are plentiful and not too much more. Besides there is alot more to consider than just swapping the engine. By the time you have the right trans, rear end, suspension, etc, its going to end up costing more than a used GT and still not being as good because of all the little things that the V6 car won't have.

Cobra swap into a V6 would be worth it, used SN95 Cobra still go for $8k up here with 100k miles on them

Forget the V8. Get a SR20DE in there. If we have to, overnight some parts from Japan.

You know, the V10 out of a van/truck of the same vintage fits... Just saying.

And yes, those are stock 6 cyl rims. There were the 16" 5 spokes (they look pretty nice), available standard on the GT and as an option on the 6. The 17" 3 spokes were GT-only, and just as hideous. Cobra and Cobra R had yet more rim variety.

Other differences are smaller brakes, softer springs, different interior. The 6 could be ordered with manual windows and doors, power was standard on the GT. All GTs had a spoiler. Fog lights were likewise standard on the GT.

The GTS http://www.quannet.org/corey/gtsinfo.html was the v6 fitted with the drivetrain from the GT.

You could do a lot worse for $1500. The car may not perform very well and gas mileage is somewhat poor, but even the basket case examples keep running and running and running...

Code readout is P1443.

Says it is an EVAP canister purge valve fault.

Some are saying IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE, other's say it is a Purge Flow Sensor. The car stumbles a bit during idle I've noticed, so could it be the first one? It read the code twice the guy said (if this helps).

Well, I read the post over. Think I'll go ahead and purchase the Purge flow sensor and see if that fixes it...just had to purchase two odometer gears for $54.

BWD Purge Flow Sensor
Part No. CP509

Only one I found on the site...but it says that it won't fit?

Is that the part I need? Says solenoid..just want to make sure it is the same.

Correct:

Here are the t hings needed:

Things that are needed are engine, trans, driveshaft, rearend, brakes, spindles, computer, harness, k-member, trans cross member, etc. Basically its not worth the effort unless you are doing an all out race car build where you would have to replace everything anyhow.

If the v6 is enough for you go head and get it. Im on my second mustang of this bodystyle and its nice for how old it is.
