1991 Ford Probe

220K miles (big minus)
Minor body damage to front left side of car (repairable at about $300).

No known major mechanical issues.

They're asking $975. It's from an individual.

I figured even if I spent $2000 on repairs, it would be worth it.

Right?

Keep in mind this car has been discontinued for some time now, so parts MIGHT be a little hard to come by...

Just something to keep in mind...

Probes ride like hell, I know from experience.

Sounds like the car is worth............in real money about................... $500, a dealer would give you about $50 if you were trading it in.

If you put $2000 in it, you would have a $2975 investment in a car thats worth $1000.

With 220k miles on it you have to rememeber anything can go at any time. Its one thing to buy it for $1k and just drive it as is and if it last more than a year without major problems you win but to invest $2k in it is not a good idea. I have had lots of ultra high mileage cars but they were all beaters and if something major broke I could just pull the tags and walk away 🙂. Its not like probes are hard to find so keep looking.

Ford parts are never that hard to find...lots of people out there run their Fords into the ground

My friend had a Probe for a while. I thought it had too little room inside, it was poorly designed, and it didn't handle well. I wouldn't get it.
