1990 Acura Integra LS - problems with buying one????

I found a 90 Acura INtegra LS that I am about to drop a chunk of cash on because it's a good deal, but I'm looking for any tips or things to watch out for on these cars. Car has 145K miles now, Timing belt and h2o pump replaced at 110K miles, new brakes (4-wheel disc AFAIK), new alt, new batt. Garage all it's life until 4 months ago.

This is the trusty B18-A1 motor right?

What do you consider a "chunk" of change? About 3 years ago I bought a '94 Integra RS with about half the mileage of the one you're considering for $5k.

BTW, at 145k, the car is long overdue for a radiator replacement if it hasn't been done already. The OEM radiators are partially plastic and are basically POS that seem to go out like clockwork on Integras at 110k or so, and it's a ~$400-450 repair ($200 or so if you buy it online and install yourself). Might also need the valves adjusted and some other smaller work done as well if it hasn't been done before.

OK, I'll pop open open the radiator and check it out. - Thanks Glenn for the usefull info. It is appreciated.

Also, if the valves on these things are anything like my Beemer, I can adjust them myself. On the Acura, I'm planning on having to replace the distributor eventually. Radiator should be easy, I like to flush the fluids - oil, tranny, diff, engine oil, etc. when I buy a new car anyways, so that's cool. Especially since the brakes are done.

I am not looking to finance a car that I don't need. A 15 year old acura has lower insurance, less to worry about, a well designed 4-banger, and will still last me a few years, if I buy a clean well-maintained example, like this one appears to be. I'd Rather spend money on musical gear.

I had a 92 and it was a great car. But at 145k, all bets are off.

radiator is about 100 bucks at radiatorbarn. its easy as draining oil.
