I'm sure they ship items and all just fine, it's just the rebate part people hate about tigerdirect. IMO you might have better luck with outpost.com which usually has similar barebones systems for same price or so.

My $2

ive done about 20 rebates now with tigerdirect, zero hastle

two were a mistake of mine and they easyily let me resubmit them

rest they met all terms of the rebate, on time, no repeated emails, no phone calls, no threats........

I get sick of standing up for them but I cant possibly see how its luck that all mine went flawless and everyone else bitches

hmmmmmmm maybe because 99% of you havent even done a tigerdirect rebate and just like to join the bandwagon of the 1% who whine and cry about not receiving there rebates

got me, I just cant see how, maybe theyve gotten better, ive only started shopping at tigerdirect a little over a year now

1%?!

 This deal involves a HUGE risk.

Source: The official Better Business Bureau report on TigerDirect he would have us believe only a minority is "whining" about:

"...complaints have issues with the advertised rebate, both the catalog and web site have numerous offers for items with a mail-in rebate. Upon receiving the products the rebate application is not included in the package. Customers are told the rebate application is on the website and customers are required to comply with the program and submit paperwork that they never received.

Many are denied because the product they have purchased does not have the advertised rebate, the rebate has expired, and some rebates are only good if the item is purchased with a computer. Many customers feel they have been victims of bait and switch, and are unable to return the products because the package has been open.

Customers who have contacted customer service with concerns have problem with getting return calls, emails, and experience unresponsiveness and unconcerned customer service staff. However, the company has responded to most complaints presented by the Bureau. "

Large number of Anandtech Hot Deals forum members posted first hand experiences about problems with TigerDirect over the years.

It only takes one time to get screwed by T.D. and their support to know why! I'll never give them my business again. I don't care if the product is free after rebate's. Never again, NEVER!!!

Yeah 7 rebates is a lot, but if they all did go through that is a pretty hot deal.

Comes out to $408.11 shipped here.
"IF" (yes it is a BIG if) you get rebates of $150, it would end up costing $258.11.
You can get slightly better stuff (including DVD-CDRW) for around $300 from Newegg, Outpost and ChiefValue specials.

Even "IF" all rebates came back, not worth the $42 savings for a lesser system, and also from crooks who should be penalized for past behavior.

Reward the companies like Newegg and Chiefvalue for their great everyday prices, while avoiding these clowns is best way to let them know how their business models work.
