If a Porsche 959 is just too commonplace or not quite raw enough to satisfy your primal rally-car lust, how about a Ford RS 200 Evolution? Where as the German vehicle was much like a well-dressed triathlete with social skills, Ford's entry into the Group B madness of the 1980s had a personality more along the lines of a serial killer.

Cosworth was put in charge of squeezing serious power from the turbocharged 2.1L four-banger, and it succeeded to the tune of something in the neighborhood of 650 HP in the Evolution models. Combine that with the weight distribution afforded by a front-mounted transmission (odd for a mid-engined AWD car), and the RS 200 Evo could supposedly scratch its way to 60 MPH in just over two seconds. The distinctive bodywork was designed by Ghia, while a significant number of parts came from the Ford of Europe parts bin.

200 of the vehicles were originally built, with 24 later receiving the conversion to Evolution status. In other words, if something like this strikes your fancy, we'd suggest not passing up the chance.

If those stats are true, one would imagine that it would drive QUITE well! Hopefully well enough to make up for how ugly it is! Yuck!

Wow. Assuming there's one shift to second included in that 2.1 seconds, this thing must pull like a beast. The same dealer selling it also has a modified 959 producing almost 600 bhp and various other ultra-exotica in stock.

Group B... I remember playing with group B cars in Colin McRae Rally and I was flying in the air instead of on the track for 80% of the race.

If you are in Vegas and want to see one up close check out the Imperial Palace. All of their cars in the museum are for sale. And to make it the best deal on the Strip, its free!!!! You can spend a good amount of time perusing these cars.

:Q Oh me wants! The RS200 is the greatest Group B rally car ever made. Truly insane.

destorying the driveshaft, or does the shaft have enough flex to come back after that?

And 250,000 is a very reasonable price for this car - it'll outrun just about everything, probably outturn everything, too, and it costs less than a new F430 and is much more rare.

I'd buy it if I was in the market in a heartbeat. God, I'd love to blow ricers to hell with this thing. It doesn't look like much more than a hot hatch rice rocket type car, but it is so much more.

Completely rendering it unusable.

LOL. That's the magic of ultra-high power + AWD. To be fair, CF driveshafts are available now.
