I've read most of the book, and saw the movie on some cable channel a few days ago. That lady needs to shave.

Anyways, since I've forgotten some things, didn't watch the movie, and don't want to read the book....

Did they both get killed in the end?
Is the war real or not, I know the government spews fake statistics about everything constantly, but is there a war?
If there is a war, is the other side the same way (communist to the extreme, totalitarian, etc)?
Does the evil government ever fall?

#1: can't remember
#2: it doesn't matter, but I had always assumed that the war was fake
#3: probably
#4: I can make up an answer, but based on the overall tone of the book, I'd go with no.

No, they don't get killed, they get reprogrammed into empty shells of people, their spirits entirely broken. They lose any will to rebel, or ever step out of line.

There sort of is a war. Each government portrays each other as vastly different and evil nations, but in reality, they are all the same, and they all use the excuse of war to maintain power. It's never really made clear if they fight, or if it's all fabricated. I would guess that it's all fabricated, as actually having wars would simply waste resources of the governments better used elsewhere, and threaten stability.

No, in the end, our hero and heroine are brainwashed into mindless soulless automatons. It's sad. :(

Anything else while I'm up?

I tell ya, sending PMs to other people while yours are disabled is a bad idea.

They don't die, the war has ended (but is fabricated to keep the economy in full usage), all three superpowers fall under the same kind of government (just with different names) and no, it doesn't look like the government ever falls.

Edit: Read the Underground resistance's book (which is in the book 1984) - that will clear up a lot

Won't Julia and Winston get killed eventually? I thought they did, sometime down the road they'll disappear unannounced.
