Hey Guys,
I just picked up a classic mustang and it is in pretty good condition. I am going to get it repainted am planning on redoing the interior. should I upgrade to the pony interior or should I just stick with the stock?

I don't plan on upgrading to disc brakes due to wanting the mustang to stay true to the original.

might want to change the steering...i would change the upolstery...if you like vinyl then go ahead...if you are making a show car then keep it originial..if you are going to drive it and have fun with it, my choice, then i would make it yours...many of these people get a car, restore it..and never drive it...i never understood just looking at a car that you own...cars are to be driven...have fun with it...booyah!!!

I am def going to be driving it for a little. Life is too short to turn this thing into a show car. Does anyone know of a good way to get interiors on the cheap?

Hahaha.....those don't go together in the same sentence. About the cheapest you can get is buying replacement upholstry made for your vehicle and puttin git on the seats your self. You can buy kits that have the upholstry premade for your car and then just slide it over your foam. I would replace the foam while your in there too. Most kits are around $400 and up.

Lazy way and costilier is goign to find an uphostrley shop to do it for you.

Also interior pieces are not cheap, no matter the source unless they need to be fixed. They are always in demand so prices always stay expensive.

The pics are important. I dropped the car off at a friends house to fix the muffler and exhaust manifold. Will pick up this weekend and take pics. I seen the pony deluexe interior kit for 800 on fleabay. The guy I am having paint the car also does interiors so if I buy the kit, the installation price should not be that bad.

The radio is horrible. Probaly going to replace stock speakers and head unit.

my 1966 GT (don't own it anymore).

Pony interior, vinyl roof, a/c, rally pack, GT package, went with aftermarket ARE wheels and put the wire wheel covers under my bed, Kenwood 8001, 6x9's in the rear and dual 4"'s in the factory 4x10 center dash location.

The interior makes a big difference and it pretty easy to do (just time consuming). I had a low mileage 66 that was kept up pretty well, so my seat foams were in great shape.

Original color was Silver Frost.
