Im as happy as a kid in a candy store... where you also get to play with toys and puppies :D

my 1700tbred b is currently sitting at 2048mhz @vcore of 1.55. Hopefully I can get this thing to a full 2.4ghz with a vcore of 1.7 or less. Ill update as soon as I get a chance or oc more

btw, which is better, sandra cpu burn in OR prime95. Prime95 doesnt seem to stress the system cuz cpu utilization is not at a full 100%

i highly doubt you'll be able to get to 2.4 with 1.7 or less...

once you start getting into the higher speeds, you'll notice a dramatic fall in the amount of mhz you can squeeze out vs. the vcore you use...

you can go from like 1.47 to 2.0 ghz @ 1.50 volts no problems which is like... 530 mhz at 1.5 volts

but once you get to like 2.2 you notice a dramatic fall....

when you get to 2.4 or even 2.5... you can up the vcore to like 2.15 and it won't matter (unless you're using prometeia or LN2 or dry ice or anything else extreme)

this sorta relates to that. Im at 11x197 now=2179mhz @ 1.575vcore.
When I bump this up to 11.5x197=2265mhz @1.6vcore I either get a reboot in the middle of winxp's boot up, or it goes into windows fine, but prime95 stops within the first 30secs of prime'in.

What should I do? higher vcore, arent I pusing it for a brand new chip thats not broken in yet?

also, Sandra burnin test or prime95???

both the ram and the hsf are awesome btw. the ram is at 197 no prob(will go higer soon), and idle temps are at 87f/31c with room temp around 73-75.

big whoopie... my v1.1 board is doing 200MHz FSB right now (2100+ at 10x200). i don't really want to push the board/chip any further because i have a pair of WD raptors in RAID 0 on the SATA controller and don't want to tempt data corruption. good effort on your part though nonetheless.

What the hell are you saying? last time I checked 2048 was higher than 2000, and currently Im at an even 2200 (11x200). Isnt it fun when a lowly 1700 beats the pants off of your 2100 :D
