1950's movie where astronauts(?) end up far in the future..

Somewhat like the Time Machine, astronauts end up in the future and the humans are being victimized by mutants. So the astronauts teach them how to fight.
All I remember is it seemed to have a western landscape.
Anyone know the name of it?

Might have not been an astronaut. However, according to imdb there are mutants in it so it may be it.
