Yet another retarded version of a great card.
Its dissapointing. They CAN release the full powered cards in agp form.

That would be an opinion and not a fact as im sure alot of AGP users will differ about this if true.

I'd love to be able to get my hands on one of those, TBH. Delaying the inevitable, I know, but hey.

I'll probably just hold out for another year and build up an entirely new system.

Would be sweet if these came out at a reasonable price though.

Just when I was about to buy a 7600GT, if the X1950 Pro does indeed come out for 199$ and within 2 weeks from now, then I'm definitely getting it.

Sweetpants. Looks like more users will be able to hold out for PCIe 2.0.

well, since the core will be identical it seems, and iirc the slowest GDDR4 currently made is used in the 1950xt, i'd say this agp version should have vast ocing headroom ;)

That would be nice... but I would rather have it clocked higher out of the box and have more overhead that way. I have pci-e, but I guess my heart is still with AGP. I wish they would just release identical cards for both busses instead of slowing down a good card and selling it for cheap.

On an upnote, the pricerange is amazing. $200! That puts it in competition with the 7600gt (as far as price).

I ended up getting a 7800GS as I was tired of waiting on Vista. Hopefully next year I can get a whole new system.

This looks like a sweet option for me ... I can wait (been waiting six weeks and so what's another couple?) and am looking forward to it.

i already knew. :p

and this is the SECOND time Diamond Multimedia has promised a high-end AGP card . . . the LAST time they failed to deliver.

personally, i don't care . . . IF it is faster than my x850xt [doubtful] AND
really is $199 [doubtfu], i MAY get one . . . BUT i am doing a complete rig 'makeover' next year.

too little . . . too late

You know, I'm not sure this is true. I think they're getting confused with the Radeon X1650 PRO AGP.

There's no mention on the diamond site about a 1950 pro AGP.

AND...

From Neoseeker
Diamond Multimedia (www.diamondmm.com), a leading manufacturer of PC graphics cards, sound cards and communications products, will begin shipping three new versions of its popular Viper video card line on September 14, including the X1950 CrossFireT & X1950XTX in PCI-E models along with the X1950PRO available in an AGP version.

The X1950 cards represent the pinnacle of achievement in a wide-ranging series of high-performance graphics cards produced by Diamond and featuring the powerful ATI Radeon® chip that outperforms any other single or dual-slot solutions. These cards have tested memory speeds of 450MHz faster than the last generation of X1900 cards, proving to be the fastest graphics card on the market with blazing clock speed and unrivaled video quality to provide the most immersive experience available.

Identical except for that single line that only appears on Neoseeker.

I'm calling FAKE until I see it on Diamonds website.

I agree. The Neoseeker article states:

The Pro and X1650 are not mentioned at this point but rumored pricing on the X1950PRO was falling around $199 early on for general pricing which would be an absolute steal for AGP owners.

But according to the Diamond Multimedia AGP video card page, the price on the X1650 Pro is $199. I don't see how it would be possible that both the X1650 Pro AND X1950 Pro could have the same price.

Smells like Neoseeker being a bunch of cheeky sh!ts going for site hits. They've clearly added that extra line in.
