If I had to guess...

She thinks highly enough of you to not just disappear without a trace, but that's about it. I highly doubt she has any interest in you at the present time beyond staying acquainted.

*SHORT*
The fact that she left/out grew myspace speaks volumes for her. She's probably too mature for you and you should just forget about her.
BTW, change your username.

How far away do you two live from each other? If you like her, you should have already been on a few dates with her.

Ask her out on a date, if she says no or gives you some lame excuse, never talk to her again.

Remind yourself of this universal truth: there are more women than men on planet earth; there will always be a hotter, classier, more beautiful and loving woman, each one more than the next.

I don't think she quit myspace because of you. She was done with the myspace fad thats all.

sounds like she wants to keep in touch as friends and nothing else.

Write her back at her e-mail address. Nothing big, just a little "hello," and say that you wanted her to have your address as well. Tell her you'll definitely want to catch up with her at the convention.

E-mail her two or three weeks before that convention: "Hey, are you still going to the convention? Want to grab lunch if you are? Feel free to invite anyone."

Nothing more, nothing less. You don't look desperate, and you don't crush her hopes if SHE is the desperate one.

We live 1000+ miles apart, so seeing her is probably limited to about 2x a year

this is so obvious captain obvious.
you've failed already.

next time ask for her home #

talking online with her is a waste of time

1) Make a pre-suicide posting about how horrible your life on Myspace..
2) Tell said girl you are thinking about killing yourself
3) Post YAGT on ATOT
4) Kill yourself, EMO style
5) Have a news story wrote about you in the local paper... you'll be fvcking famous

I think I've read almost a hundred of these far-from-clever lists since I joined AT.

Seriously, though, LanceM's advice is solid if you really can't forget about this girl, oldsmoboat's is better if you have some tiny connection with reality.

My advice is that don't take online conversations with girls too seriously. For girls, when they go online, they have to find someone to IM with, therefore when you, are the desperate one, will get crazy thoughts.

I'm ashamed to post this, because it sounds emo as hell and even involves MySpace, but I could use the frank advice I often see here. I met this girl last year at this convention. I liked her immediately and felt a "connection" (sounds lame). I saw her again this summer and we have been communicating semi-regularly via MySpace through public comments...mostly friendly "how was your day" type banter.

Anyway, yesterday out of the blue she sends me a message saying that she's cancelling her account, saying MySpace isn't right for her, etc. She mentions that she was glad she got to know me and that talking to me was the "one good thing" about MySpace. Then she says she'll miss "our talks" and that she wishes me success in the future. She leaves her e-mail and says I should contact her if I ever need to contact her or want to talk. She also mentions that she'll see me at another convention in December.

It sounds like she doesn't want to talk to me again for whatever reason, but she was being friendly about it. But on the other hand, why would she leave me her e-mail? Needless to say, I'm 😕 Any thoughts?
She is being nice about it, but she doesn't want anything more to do with you except maybe say "hi" at the convention or send you a couple of lame emails.
