1942: Joint Strike

Modeps

Lifer
I played 1941 and 1942 to DEATH on the NES... it was a serious cause of Nintendo thumb for me. Joint Strike came out on xbla today and I've gotta say dayum, if this is what we've got to expect out of Capcom's old properties being remade... I cant f'n wait till Bionic Commando Rearmed.

Go try the demo right now, for reals.

I like it. It starts off very easy but progresses in difficulty nicely. Some may not like the brownish visuals but I think they were going for a sepia toned movie reel look which I think fits the game. The music and sounds are fine and it plays well. Only real complaint is that its only 5 levels long but thats not a big deal for me.

Ah nintendo thumb, I remember those days fondly. Moving on, can't wait to get my stupid xbox back from repair mostly because of this game, it looks fantastic. Is it any where near as difficult as Ikaruga?

I have to say, I really don't like the brown visuals. It makes the entire game look horribly washed out. I was all set to buy the game until I played the demo and saw it looked. I won't be buying it now 🙁

Did you play the game for longer than 3 seconds? It's not brown.

I played the entire first level, which was in the demo. And, yes, everything I saw had a brown tint to it. Even if you don't think it looks brown, you simply can't deny that game is totally washed out. Everything is lifeless.

Looks far from washed out to me. Go to the eye doctor or recalibrate your TV.

It's very washed out. And, if anything, my TV is currently a bit over saturated because I like bright colors in my games. Just look at the ground in the first level, the grass is very bland. In fact, just look any damn thing on the screen, there's no "pop" to any of the colors.

maybe its not suppose to be a bright game. you know, can you imagine dday with super bright colors? vibrant red, super blue oceans... war is gritty and not bright. if u want bright try ikargua.

the colors are trying to help set the mood. war is not suppose to be a happy colorful thing

it's supposed to envoke the retro, novelty feel like wartime photos and art. The muted colors are intentional.
I love the game, but it's hard to me.
