you have to pay for authorization to use the card everytime?

No, the gas station just charges your card a buck (some are moving to $5) to make sure it's a valid card. Then a day or two later it cancels the $1 and charges the whole amount.

EDIT: Lots of bars do the same thing when you start a tab with your card. They'll pre-authorize $50 then a day or two later the correct amount is charged, replacing the $50 one.

is this the first time you've ever used a card to buy gas?

and don't worry, restaurants will overcharge your card next time to balance things out 😉

no, I use a card a lot, but I never check my balance that often to see this. This is the first time I've ever used my paypal debit card to buy gas and I thought I almost got free gas 😛 oh well

and restaraunts don't overcharge me 😛 besides, I never go out to eat except to Applebee's so I can get a 50% discount

Please don't use words you don't understand, just because you heard someone use it on one of your favorite TV shows. For example - blatant.

I agree, egregiously would have been a better choice in this instance.

So I went to an exxon and filled up with my Paypal debit card the other day. I check my balance today and it said only $1 was deducted from my account, even though I blatantly spent $29.

🙂

So, free gas? Or is it just taking them long to charge my account?

😕
