The problem is obviously your PSU you dolt, any newer ATI will be choppy (yet with high framerates) when its trying to draw too much current when it just isn't there. You have 4x512mb of RAM right? (atleast that is what i gather from your first posts) You are just eating up too much power for your PSU to handle! Stop b!tching/demanding answers when you are perfectly capable of troubleshooting yourself.

"The total Watts is important but the Total Amperage Available on the +12V Rail(s) is the most important, followed by the +5V amperage and then the +3.3V amperage. Because of the increased power consumption of the new high-power video cards the recommended minimum for +12V is 26A, for SLI 35A. "

ATI cards (as far as i know) are more sensitive than nvidia when it comes to power draw. All X1--- series need a dedicated 18A on the 12V rail, 17A and 19A just arent enough, especially if you have more than one thing connected on those rails

Get a better PSU,with better amps on the 12v rail.Cause i guess ur x1900 xtx is from otuside india!!So u should be able to get a good PSU also along with an upgrade for ur mobo/cpu.
Unless ofcourse u are lyin about ur gfx card.(hope not for ur sake)

I got a radeon 1900XTX within India. I can get a new psu, but how do I return the one I recetly bought. Also, a new one is a great deal more expensive. Antec NeoHE 500 will set me back an additional 35$ or so even if the seller doesn't ask for any premium for returning this power supply.

Agreed, it's not your CPU. I have the same one and FEAR is butter smooth for me at 1280x1024 as long as I don't go overboard with AA (and that is because I am GPU and not CPU limited on most if not all games).

Bad drivers are no doubt your problem.

did you just ask us how to return an item you bought from a store? i guess thats our fault too. you're the wrong person to own a x1900xtx. give it to someone that knows what he's doing

Oh yea, definately sound card, sound cards cause so much graphics problems these days its unbelieveable! Also maybe you havent tried this, but poor performance can be caused by mildew on your CPU, take it out and use some Mr Muscle Itll sort out that mildew!

There could also be any number of things living within your case, things in general cause poor performance, kill them with some Raid Just spray your whole rig with a few cans of that, its nice and toxic, cant hurt.

LOL!!! That was funny, but I was serious about the sound card.

OP, you bought a insanely expensive video card and are complaining about a $35 dollar premium to get a good PSU?
Return the old psu and get a new one.

Hahahaha, what an ass!

LOL, yeah what he doesn't realize is that his problem and our problem are two different things. We've been doing all we can in an attempt to make him calm down, shut up, and listen, but the problem persists.
Did anyone here who has posted replies to the OP in good faith, trying to help consider that the OP is just some loser trolling us? I mean, look at the title - that alone is bait. And yet, after all the helpful (and some not so helpful i.g. the CPU needs to be OC'ed) the OP hasn't changed the thread title.

I don't know if the OP is trolling us for sure, but it is a definite possibility. I mean, could anyone be as brain-dead as the OP seems to be and stilll be breathing?

Don't feed the OP.

i couldnt agree more aries.
Cause i got a cousin over there in India. And he's begging me to send him some quality computer parts.(i live in singapore by the way)
he says all that's available readily are geforce fx 5xxx,geforce 6200,6600,6600 gt and radeon 9xxx cards.
7800 and 6800 cards are available but are really pricey.
A 7800 gt costs over $555(conerted to US $ from local currency Ruppees)And the gtx costs over $700 and thats just the 256mb part.
So as far as him saying the x1900 xtx is even available in india, might be just a plain lie.And calling it crap just makes it look even more suspicious.

Or, he could just be a dude that has no idea what he is doing. The thread title is only flame bait if the reader chooses it to be.

I think, this guy paid a lot of money for a X1900XTX and has no idea what he is doing, therefore thoroughly disgusted with it. It seems that a lot of decent advice has been given, but the OP has no idea how to implement such ideas. For all we know, he might not even have the extra power connector plugged into the card.

Trying to help someone who has zero patience is next to impossible. When you add the lack of computer hardware/software knowledge, it becomes throroughly impossible.

Yes, keysplayr2003, you are 100% correct here. Good points - all. To tell you the truth I never considered that a 6-pin PCIe connector might not be plugged-in to the card. Trolling just seems more likely since that anyone who sends upwards of $500.00 US would at least have a clue about PCs' in general. On the other hand, there are people who have more money than common sense.

Hey akshayt - you still here? You could always send that crappy X1900XTX over to someone who wants it (like me). Then I could upgrade my wife's system almost for FREE!

I don't believe the OP was trolling. He made a thread a while ago asking about video card advice. The conclusion was that he decided to buy an X1900XT(X). A lot of people in the first 3 pages of this thread tried to help him in good faith. I understand there is a language barrier and I myslef am bilingual so I understand there are nuances and ways of speaking in other languages that may seem rude to those speaking English and vice versa. I have a very good grasp of the English language and I actually speak it better than my native tongue having been raised in the US. There is still no excuse for some of his comments complaining about our inability to help him when he isn't even providing information we ask for and he is not saying whether he is following some of our advice. I'm sure if one of us had the computer in our hands we'd be able to solve the problem already but remote diagnosis of problems is always a tricky thing.
