Can't find the 911 call, but I know it's out there (heard it on radio this morning).
Moral of this story: If you're gay looking for guys 1/2 your age to live with you who tell you after they move in are no longer gay and now are straight, don't force the issue.
A 19-year-old Kings Mountain teenager charged with using a shotgun, handgun and hatchet to kill his roommate said he overdosed on cough medicine before the brutal killing, according to a 911 call released Tuesday.
Around 4:45 a.m., 19-year-old Michael Anderson called 911, saying he murdered his roommate, Stephen Starr, at the home they lived in on Ruth Road in Mountain View.
In the call, the teenager told the 911 operator, "I did some things to his body that you don't want to see. You're not going to know who it is."
Anderson is accused of shooting 36-year-old Starr with a shotgun and pistol and hitting him in the torso with an ax.
In the call, Anderson told the dispatcher he took some pills that "made me go mad." He then tells the dispatcher he shot his roommate three times and used an ax to mutilate the body.
"I (overdosed) on Mucinex DM. It makes me feel a little weird and I took too many," Anderson said.
During the call, the dispatcher asked what sparked the attack. Anderson said it was because he was straight, and Starr was gay. According to the 911 call, Anderson said the two met at a gay club, but he went to the club to experiment.
"I met him and went to his house and he took me in. I turned straight again. And he wanted to touch me and stuff and I wouldn't let him...and he kept trying. And I waited until he went to sleep and I shot him three times. And I mutilated him very badly and I'm sorry... I'm sorry," Anderson said during the 911 call.
Before police arrived, the dispatcher made sure Anderson did not have a weapon in his hands.
His first court appearance is Wednesday.
