19" Trinitron Flat Screen...breaking...advice!

I have a Compaq P900 from years ago, its a 19" flat trinitron. Now first of all I love this monitor and have always been very happy with it. Lately tho sometimes it will a popping noise and the screen will flash, and just today I turned it on, normal sharp image, then after like 6 seconds the image started going blurry. If I turned it off and back on, same thing, sharp image, then fade to blurry. First of all I'm assuming its the monitor and not the videocard cause after another weird pop its sharp again.

SO, anybody know what might be wrong and if its fixable, and if not, can you recommend an affordable alternative to this monitor.

It's the high voltage circuitry. The loud pops are high voltage charges jumping where they shouldn't, and the out-of-focus way-too-bright appearance also is typical for that.

While this isn't beyond repair, it's certainly beyond repair-worthy. Unless the thing is still under warranty (3 years usually).
