19" monitor - what to set the res to?

I use my optimal settings that my monitors says is good.. 1280x1024x85hz
 
1400x1050x32bit is the best resolution to run on a 19" monitor. Granted, you have to find some tweaking utilities and stuff to create that custom resolution, but it works perfectly.
 
I'm running a 21" cornerstone that's recommended to run 1200X1600@85, but I run it at 1024X768@85 becuse I can't get some of the fonts to enlarge to where they're readable in some windows, like the names on different folder tabs that a window might have.

ditto, not too small, not too big, and good refresh rates. You dont accually need a tweaking utility, just your gfx drivers and notepad!
