Hey all,

Know you're probably sick of these by now but I'm finally gonna bite the bullet and pick up a new LCD.

I know a lot of you are going to say 2001fp without a thought, but understand that I will be running a 9700 Pro for my graphics card and 1600 resolution is gonna pretty much out of the question for gaming...unless the 2001fp can scale really well.

My other choices are the new Viewsonic 12ms VP912b and the Sony 12ms HS94P. Both having a native resolution of 1280x1024 is a little more bearable for my 9700 Pro. Unfortunatey, there doesn't seem to be many reviews on either of these two.

Any recommendations? Is the Sony XBrite really all that? I saw it at Fry's the other day and it looked pretty sweet....

Thanks,

-D

Personally, the scaling didn't bother me in games. I play games, but I also appreciated the larger desktop that the Dell gives you.

Personally I use a AG neovo E-19 I have not seen any better 2D on a Panel ever period the old PX171-M Planar comes close (too bad that panel is out of production) the 3D is excellent as well I wish I could afford to keep it. I'd look into AG's they are also very attractive and have a crystal coating that is great if you have kids!

Love my Viewsonic VP191b ..

Very good Images.. So Bright and contrasty I have Both controls turned down to 1/3 of Max.

Also one reason I got it is headroom..

I have shelf over my desk and this monitor was only 19" er that could fit under my 16½ space..
and squeeze dowen even another 3 inches!!

Best Height adjustability of any monitor.. tho that doesn't matter to most people

BUT.. if you have the room and most do (and $ Diffference isn't big), Get the Dell 2001 FP (didn't see that choice)..

I have used those at work and they're big and beautiful.. The "only 1" feels noticable bigger

... Viewsonic also has 90 degree tilt feature, which is good if you want a Verical format option..

But if not .. Dell 2001FP (even tho I hate those buggers)

Has anyone have any experience with Sony XBrite?
