I'm going to be buying a new computer for my wife. She wants an LCD monitor and will be using it for MS Office, web surfing, and digital editing (photos and videos).

Costco will have a 19" Envision monitor on sale for $399 (after coupon and rebate and rebates are easy through Costco).

Does anyone have experience with that brand and could discuss it? Are there other LCD monitors that would be better?

Dell 1901FP. And it can be had for very cheap if you catch a sale.

Other than the USB ports and what appears to be better tilting options, what makes the Dell monitor better than this one:

Envision 19" monitor

Is it $150 better as that appears to be the price difference, even after the 20% discount.

The Dell 1901FP seems to have the same brightness, refresh rate, and contrast as the Envision monitor. The two differences I saw were the USB ports and the greater tilting ability.

Refresh rate is not the same as response time. The Dell's response time is 16ms, the Envision's is 25 ms. That makes a huge difference with moving objects on your screen. The Envision will "ghost" much more than the Dell.

Amused - The Dell specs page clearly says that the response time is 25 ms. Are you sure?
