15K rpm....whoo....

GB/$ is very expensive, space wise; but performance wise this is a good price.

only problem is, it only comes with 4MB cache...... but still, 15k rpm is great and a 5 year warranty.

Yes. I bought one from Hypermicro last month (because of the free LSI SCSI adapter deal). The manufacture date on the drive was January 2002.

I ebayed it and kept the SCSI adapter. 😀

I have a 36GB Seagate x15 and I can't hear it over the hum of my 2 WD 100GB SE drives.

If you guys like the sound of this one, but needed more space (and even more speed), also check out Maxtor's Atlas 10k IV. It's a little more money per Gb, but you don't need to buy an 80-to-68 adapter for it and it is very fast. StorageReview.com did a writeup of it recently. Oh, and it will run cooler and quieter than the first-gen IBM 15k's too.

no not much.. but guys, thats an ibm 15k drive.. not that fast.. my older x15-36lp distroys it.. the 4mb buffer hurts alot.. so good drive but i dono if i would buy more scsi with the WD JB seriers out, hehe they are mightly fast too..
