I don't know whats going to happen next.

Now your parents will fight for your love. Don't let them buy you off cheap.

My dad has been acting very crazy lately. It's all because of my brother coming home late. He came home around 2:00 AM. My dad got so pissed and he went to my mom and said we're divorced. My mom has been crying a lot. I'm about to beat up my dad.:|
That's no reason why he should divorce her.

I doubt it was for that after 31 years of marraige. Probably some underlying issues.

My parents divorced after 21 years of marraige, though they might get back together. The only advice I have is to try to not let yourself get too involved except to prevent violence from happening, and try to help them work through issues they might have. The not getting to involved ins't for their benifit, but for yours.

Don't feel bad... not matter how much they say it. It isn't your fault.

You'll also get better and better presents as they try to out-do each other.

And on the bright side of things, you and your dad can go hit the bars and look for a new mom.

I sometimes wonder whether parents really have a clue how devastating a divorce can be to their children. But I guess in cases it's for the best, and can lead to a better outcome than 24/7 arguing and screaming between parents.

If they've been married for 31 years, I'm guessing your dad must be about 55 or so? Does he really think he can get a new woman at that age? The best time to upgrade one's spouse is around 40-45, when you have a lot of money and can still get it up.

I agree. There's a hell of a lot more to the story than what we know so far, and there's probably a lot more to the story than even the OP knows.

I'm guessing the OP is in his early teens.

OP, things in life change, we just never expect something we rely on so much as our parents to change, but unfortunately they do. They're only human, and if you believe this is all from your brother coming in late either you know that's not true or you are too young to comprehend fully what's happening.

As for wanting to "beat up your dad" remember there's two side to every story and then there's the truth. You'll never know EVERYTHING about why they split, and honestly, you don't really need too as most of it's their buisness.

If you still want them together ask your self if you think they truly belong together or if you just want them to stay together so your world doesn't turn upside down.

Either way, this is really tough for them and your siblings too, bear that in mind and try to just be supportive of your family members in whatever they may choose to do.

My parents divorced after 30 years and five kids.

my mom remarried about 15yr ago, my dad is still a playboy.

live goes on and this will be less and less upsetting day by day.

the important thing is that they treat each other with the mutual respect of parents.
