Well the prior MPEG4 revision was called h.263. The new version is AVC/h.264 where AVC stands for advance video codec. The IEEE ain't too original with their naming schemes are they.

And Goose, what did you do differently with this file as compared to the 16MB file? The 16MB file played back fine in Moonlight. This one only works in Showtime again 🙁

They were both AVC. The bitrate was substantially larger for the second clip hence the crappy performance

i got A64 3500+, X850XT, 1Gig, HEAVY overclock

the 16MB clip (watched with windows mediaplayer) was smooth as silk....i cant wait for the 180mb one....downloading now.

i think it all depends on the codec you use.
 
Why do you post all these H.264 threads? You trying to show off how good the codec looks? How many different video samples do we need for that?
