I haven't bought a new cpu for a few months. I ordered an 1800+ from newegg. The stepping is SIXUB and it is a "B" core. Runs 2200MHz at 1.75 volts, but the multiplier was locked and that suprised me. I thought only later 2500+ Bartons were locked.

XP's have been locked since release. There's ways to unlock them though. The early Bartons are an exception I think.

ALL of the latest chips from AMD are hard-locked, with the possible exception of the 1600 Palomino. But, who wants a Palomino?

Anyway, since you get WAY more performance gain by upping the fsb, it really isn't a big deal to me. Just don't buy any of the new XP2400's! That 15x multi would be a killer...

They aren't still selling new palaminos, are they?
