Yep, you obviously got your mom's genetics in the height department.

At your age you could try human growth hormone and maybe get a couple inches but it can have some nasty side effects like growing your forehead and jaw out, lol. A doctor who is sympathetic would be better than trying to do it on your own. Bones fuse at 18 or 19 years old so you don't have much time.

If I was you I wouldn't bother.

Not everyone gets to be taller than their dad. Genetics is strange because the mother and the father can have children of all heights. There are brothers where one goes bald while the other has a full head of hair until death. I mean, you really can't fight genetics. I think at birth, you're branded with a maximum height. Whether you reach that goal or not depends on the environment, food, etc. Just deal with it and accept it.

There is a way to get taller, despite all the naysayers in this thread.
It's called growth hormones. It's produced by your pituitary glands. There are artificial injections of growth hormones that you could get. The standard rule is that if you're a guy, and you're not 3 inches taller than your mom, then your growth hormones are malfunctioning.
Go google it.

Some women will still love you even though you are short...and worse case scenario there is always penile lengthening procedures.

BTW: Do you and your dad compare wang length's often...because, um, that's kinda gay.;)

J/K...I know what you meant but your post was ambiguous.

Hahahahaha. You're short. You won't succeed. You're a failure in life.

Seriously though, what do you think you're going to gain by being a few inches taller? If you're hoping for something else to grow in relation to your height, I'd start getting comfortable with yourself.

oh, and anyone who thinks that anything you do affects your height or can make you grow taller is wrong. Its genetics.

lately i've been thinking it's less genetics and more about what u eat..

in the 50's when americans saw japanese ppl they were like "WTF they are short!"

now days the average height of asians is skyrocketing (literally) due to more protein intake. they're actually catching up to white/black ppl.

I think that you can affect your heigh, because you can still do the whole breaking legs thing and getting taller that way.

Um...
No.

What's it matter if you're shorter than your dad? That's genetics...it's natural. No reason to go messing with the situation...just be comfortable with who you are.

i've consciously forced myself to have at least 3 glasses of milk per day since i was 10.

That's why - your bones solidified too early. The milk broke your height.

I'm shorter than my dad, but he's 6'4" and my mom is not tall for women so I got shafted with her genes, along with some huge bone structure that comes from absolutely nobody I can identify in my family history. Yay.

I'm shorter than my dad by 1", hes' 6'2" :( My mom's side of the family is a bunch of shorties though, so I guess I'm lucky I'm even as big as I am. My maternal grandfather was 5' and my mom's sister is 4'10" :Q

Anyway, there is such a thing as leg-lengthening surgery. In the US it's generally only done on those with dwarfism, but it's a popular cosmetic surgery in China, where, of all places, height is considered important  Essentially they screw a strong brace into your leg at the top and bottom, then break the leg in the middle. Every week they lengthen the brace by a tiny amount, allowing the bone to grow into the gap. Usually takes 6-12 months. The popular cosmetic surgery in China mostly only does the lower leg bones (ones in the calf, I forget what they're called) but in the US where it's done for medical reasons, the femur is usually done as well.

meh...

at 5'9 I feel short...not too short, but still. On the plus side, I ahve no health problems, I can put on muscle easily (and have been), and at 27, still have a full head of hair. Enjoy your height :) I'll take my think hair :)
