I thought 12 roses symbolized what was supposed to be love... but recently, i noticed a lot of florists offer 18 instead.

is there a special meaning behind 18 roses as opposed to 12? i did a search, but i came up with nothing...

It's a very deep meaning. They sell 6 more roses.

[stoner] woaaaahh, that deeeeep [/stoner]

12 roses symbolizes moderate profit.

18 roses symbolizes much more profit.

Number of roses will symbolize whatever the expensive-as-crap flower shop says they do.

I think I'll invest in a home garden...

*ding-ding-ding-ding!!!*

Teh Winnnnnnnnar!!!!! The whole flowers thing is just like the whole diamond thing; marketing schemes created by very smart and slick people. A "standard" gets established, then all are expected to meet or exceed that standard.

In other countries and cultures, an engagement ring is not a diamond ring. It's a simple ring that SIGNFIES engagement. See what i'm getting at?

That said, I still buy my GF flowers and roses for a special occassion. I MIGHT buy a dozen roses once or so a year if she actually gave it up w/o bitching about it and then made me a sandwich afterwards...but that's a rarity these days.

What a racket...I'm coming back in the next life as a woman. A full-blown, man-using, gold-digging, pretty-faced, big-breasted, fat-assed, evil whore of a woman. You know; like most women these days.

When it comes to buying roses... whatever's on sale.
If they're completely wilted in 2 days or 7 days can't be determined the night you give them.

its all in the marketing

on a sidenote, a few years back i sent my wife 36 dozen roses for just under 150 bucks

B!tches are never satisfied....with inflation a dozen doesn't mean anything to them anymore so you have to get them at least 18. I don't buy things that die, what a waste of cash.

I just got a 12 rose package + 6 free package + a free vase due to me entering a "radio code" for listeners... I just googled ;p

So... 18 Roses, 1 vase, $39.98 shipped from http://www.ProFlowers.com

Google is a wonderful thing for finding coupon codes.
