They have three vendors selling the same drive at the same price (even after shipping) if ya check pricewatch... the price of a SCSI card kinda kills the deal for me though. BTW, does anyone know if these drives come with the cable (b/c cables go for $25-40 a piece!)

I checked the IBM website and this is an 80-pin drive.
I cant find anything HERE that cross references with the IBM07N6830 Model #. There are two 18 GB 15K U160 Drives. One is a 68 pin (IC35L018UWPR15-X) and one is an 80 pin (IC35L018UCPR15-X). The web site selling them for $129 indicates half hight, but the specs for those above are 1/3 height like I need.

it is available in both 80pin and 68pin, make sure you check before the purchase. btw, this drive runs blistering HOT.

The IBM 07N6830 is Model IC35L018UWPR15-0.
The drive is 1" high and has a 68 pin interface.
I have two but I haven't used them yet. I'm waiting for a P4 CPU to be delivered tomorrow which is the last part I need for the new computer.
They have a reputation for running hot.

Richard:)

When I search IBM for part number 07N6830, I get this, which is the same model k0rww has, but is listed on the site as 80-pin.

Edit: I can't make the above link work, but searching IBM by going though "quick drive search," with that part number gets me to a page of specs that identifies the drive as 80-pin.

What WinXP SCSI bug? I didn't know one existed, and it could tell me why my system seems laggy with my SCSI drives :)

The XP SCSI performance issues were fixed in Service Pack 1 (according to MS).

According to that storagereview thread, it is not yet fixed.
