That said, a 6600GT is low end today, and would pair excellently with a Sempron for a light gaming rig.

I wouldn't say low end. Low end would be the 6600 or the x300's-x700's.

Even then, they'll play stuff pretty well. At least the 6600 and x700's. Even the radeon 9800's 2 gens ago will still do pretty good.

IMO the 6600GT is redundant given the price and rather better performance of the 6800 Vanilla, x800 cards...

EDIT: and i just became the proud owner of a 6600GT after a 9800 Pro RAM disaster that took about 18months to sort itself out 😉

damnit i really meant to post this in general hardware. i swear i am losing it. or more likely have already lost it..
