I just got a 1700 XP its true clock is 1.47ghz my mobo is a MSI K7T Pro2A(non DDR) I updated the bios so that the board can support proc's up to 1.5ghz but when i put the 1700xp in it reads it AMD Athlon 1100mhz. So I went into the freq settings and I upped the fsb from 100 to 110 which makes it go up to 1277mhz but when I fire up counter-strike and play for about 1min the game just quits out. Oh I did try the multiplier from but it does not change anything and sometimes i have to clear the bios to get back in.

If anyone has suggestions it would be appreciated.

Ummm, yeah. Jumper's buddy, jumpers. It is set at 100 not 133. Check your manual for the one to set.

Not exactly "problems" and "fixed" ... KT133 came out when Athlons all were 100 MHz bus, superseded by KT133A that matched the 133 MHz bus Athlons. KT133 no can do 133.

The KT-133 had fsb settings past 133 but no one could run it that fast. 110 was about as fast as it would go. So I think of it as a problem. Even if via did it intentionally. Fixed with the A version.

The KT133 chipset is not capable of running 133FSB. In fact, it rarely go beyond 110 FSB stable. Look like u hv to run ur XP @ a lower speed.

U said...September...err...I wan to know which year as well ???:(
