Hi everybody :) I'm new (#banned from ltt)

I currently have my 1700 clocked at 3.9ghz at 1.33v
I can hit 4ghz stable at 1.45v but temps go from 45 under full load to 60

Is the 100mhz worth the increase in voltage and temps ?

Will 100 MHz make a significant difference in gaming/ video editing ?

60C is still well below thermal limits, so that's going to be your preference. 100Mhz will make a difference, but the individual game/application will determine whether it's significant or not.

I say go for it. You only YOLO once.

well it depends if you enjoy seeing the 4.0 mark. From a perfomance point of view, a mere 2.0% faster is basically irrelevant. I usually have it at 3.9 (1.35v) instead at 4.0 (1.43v). Too much vcore difference for the perf gained.

I run my 1700 at 3.9 daily now at 1.31v. Anything above 1.4v is too much, and will definitely degrade the chips faster. That's my personal preference though. Other people are very comfortable running theirs at 1.45v daily.
