I have this receiver and it's running 5 polkaudio speakers + sub. It does its job well with no problems. I have never encountered any clicking problems mentioned above when switching channels (only when changing sources, which is expected).

I bought it refurbished from onkyo.

Does anybody know if you can hook up the Klipsch Ultra 5.1 satellites to this receiver? I'm thinking yes, but I am not sure... the Klipsch's sub probably not... right?

Thanks!

A couple issues:
Might have ground loop problems hooking up the sub
If you're using a computer as a source, hooking up to the multichannel analog input might give you some issues.

It's back to $170 so I am looking at it again. I am hooking this up to my media center pc. what problems might there be hooking it up to the analog inputs?

Crossover issues mainly. Creative has a "bass redirect" feature that's supposed to send low frequencies to the subwoofer channel, but there are some issues with people getting that to work right. The creative forums would be a better place to look up the current state of things.

Also, with the multichannel analog input, the receiver is just going to be acting like an amp. Setup adjustments you use with digital sources will not apply to this input so you'll have to try to optimize the settings from the soundcard settings.

thanks soundman. I am going to be using the onboard realtek sound for now so I will have to see if there are any known issues with that. I wish soundstorm was back.
